E-commerce firm ShopClue partners with DHgate

BENGALURU: E-commerce firm ShopClues has partnered with DHgate, the world’s leading online wholesale marketplace that connects international buyers with Chinese wholesalers. This will help customers of ShopClues an easy access to Chinese products, the company said.

DHgate is popular world over for offering Chinese goods that come at a fraction of the price as compared with other similar products. The firm is recommended by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce as one of the top four e-commerce platforms for international trade in the country. It also hosts over 30 million products in a wide range of categories and is the largest player in the highly competitive Chinese B2B market.

ShopClues CEO and cofounder, Sanjay Sethi said, “Not only do the target markets of both platforms correspond seamlessly, we are also synchronised in our core philosophy of offering customers products that fulfil needs, are of a superlative quality and are affordable, without necessarily flaunting a branded tag.”

“We are pleased to make a foray into the Indian market. This will give us wide reach in tier I, II and III cities of India will help us establish an expansive network of sales in the country. We look forward to leveraging the combined brand synergies of DHgate and ShopClues to create a solid niche for our products in the country,” said TT Wang,senior director and DHgate spokesperson. DHgate serves over 5.1 million buyers from more than 200 countries.

DHgate products will also be promoted through the existing ShopClues merchandising properties such as China Bazaar and Wednesday Super Saver, the companies said in a release. Founded in July 2011 in Silicon Valley, ShopClues claims to have over 1.6 crore products and over one lakh merchants listed on its platform. The firm records more than 40 million monthly visitors on its website.
