Vodafone launches 4G service in Delhi-NCR

NEW DELHI: The country’s second largest carrier by subscribers, has launched 4G LTE services in Delhi-NCR region, following similar launches in Kolkata, Karnataka, and Kerala telecom circles

Vodafone plans to launch 4G services in Mumbai and Bengaluru shortly.

The company is offering free upgrade to 4G for customers along with high speed 4G SIM. More than that, it is offering 3 months of free access to mobile TV, movies via HOOQ and Hungama Play, and music through Vodafone Play service.

Vodafone said that it will expand 4G network in the Delhi-NCR region in a phased manner, even as it continues to improve 2G and 3G networks.

Chinese equipment vendor Huawei Telecommunication is deploying the 4G network for Vodafone in the region.

The company also announced the availability of 4G SIMs for its customers at all of its Vodafone stores located at prominent locations across Delhi & NCR. It is also making arrangements of home delivery of 4G-ready SIMs for its premium high-value customers in Delhi & NCR.

Vodafone India had acquired 4G (LTE) spectrum in 5 circles– Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Kerala and Karnataka in February 2014 auctions.
