ZTE launches its mHealth product: utilizing IoT technology to improve medical and healthcare services

Germany: ZTE Corporation, a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced the release of its mHealth product: all-in-one physical examination terminals (both professional edition and home edition). ZTE‘s product connects the human body with devices using IoT technology and provides precise medical care in order to prevent chronic diseases which are currently increasing in an aging population.

The ZTE self-developed health terminal is not only a multi-parameter instrument to collect health data but also acts as a “family doctor”. It has integrated functions for blood pressure, ECG, blood oxygen saturation, routine urine test and more, and actively collaborates with back-end cloud.

By applying the “cloud and devices” mode of IoT, the device helps users compare their health data, and contributes to generate electronic health records for the elderly as well as their families. Doctors and families will be able to upload their health information through wireless transmission to the cloud. Doctors, hospitals and citizens could access the cloud through specific interfaces or mobile applications, and acquire their specific healthcare management services, such as living habits assessment and remote diagnosis.

The device fits various case scenarios and suits different communities, including urban communities and rural families. Users can be general practitioners, personal doctors or the general population. Urban residents can interact with community doctors through the terminal and receive online health services such as prescriptions and medical consulting at home. As for rural residents, they can more swiftly receive remote diagnosis and treatment solutions from advanced medical institutions. The terminal can also provide real-time medical care for residential patients in order to understand their health dynamics, especially for postoperative rehabilitation patients, patients with chronic diseases and people in general poor health.

The device has obtained international certification and license for medical instrument production and sales. Compared with traditional medical testing instruments, the ZTE health terminal is light, easy to carry and can instantly provide personalised instructions and health guides to its users. Compared with existing electronic devices with similar functions, the ZTE health terminal provides more accurate and stable measurement results and quicker transmission. The ZTE all-in-one physical examination terminal has already served over 3 million people in China and is gaining favour and attention from both domestic and oversea clients.

As the world’s leading telecommunications service provider, ZTE Corporation is committed using its leading technology to create smart life solutions for users. In recent years, ZTE has actively participated in the development of telemedicine, mHealth, ehealth and personalised health services by taking advantage of leading-edge technologies such as mobile Internet, Internet of Things, cloud computing as well as big data. To date, ZTE has built regional medical information platforms for clients around the world including China, Latin America and Tanzania, which has greatly improved the local quality of medical and health service.
