Airtel launches 4G in Guwahati using TD LTE 2300 MHz band

NEW DELHI: India’s largest telecom operator Bharti Airtel on Wednesday launched its 4G services in Guwahati across four major cities of Assam, including Dibrugar, Jorhat and Tinsukia.

The service in the region has been rolled out using TD LTE technology in the 2300 MHz band.

“We are delighted to launch our 4G services in Guwahati. Our valued customers can now upgrade to 4G, free of cost and enjoy a high speed mobile broadband experience on the India’s widest 4G network,” said Sameer Anjaria, CEO, Airtel North Eastern States and Assam.

“With the launch, customers can also look forward to exciting data offers, and choose from a host of affordable tariff plans that offer great value,” he added.

The telco is offering free data for 12 months worth up to Rs 9000 to customers who switch to Airtel 4G. The offer is available to any customer with a 4G mobile handset who is currently not on the Airtel network as well as to existing customers upgrading to 4G.

As part of the offer, prepaid customers can get 3GB free data, in addition to the regular pack benefits with a recharge of Rs. 349. Users will get free calls – Local and STD – to any network in India plus 4GB total data (1GB regular pack benefit + 3GB free data).

Postpaid customers will get 3GB free data per month with all MyPlan Infinity plans in addition to regular plan benefits including free voice calling, data, free SMS and free subscription to Wynk Music and Wynk Movies.

The first time free 3GB data benefit can be availed through MyAirtel app and data benefits on subsequent recharges will be instant. However, the pack benefits will be valid for 28 days and can be availed for a maximum of 13 recharges till December 31, 2017. The offer will close on February 28, 2017.

The company is also offering 1GB 3G/4G data at Rs 146, 4GB 3G/4G data at Rs 246 and 10GB 3G/4G data at Rs 497 for all 4G handset users with a validity of 28 days.
