Tata Teleservices launches MDM solution in India

NEW DELHI: Telecom operator Tata Teleservices on Thursday launched Mobile Device Management (MDM) in the Indian market. The solution enables access to official data and emails over mobile devices, easy data recovery in case of theft and loss of device, thereby aiding the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) scenario.

“It is an agnostic solution and can be deployed quickly, in hassle-free simple steps,” the telco claims. The solution runs across multiple Operating Systems (OS) and helps with to data security over mobile devices.

The remote MDM administrator can view diagnostics and remotely manage the connected devices through a Central Management Console.

“Enterprise mobility is the need of the hour today but it comes with a host of challenges. With more employees accessing company information on mobile devices, the challenge for CIOs has increased significantly. Most organisations have made sizeable investments in terms of securing access to company information through laptops and PCs and are exploring ways to secure data and applications on the mobile phones and tablets,” said Prateek Pashine, President – Enterprise Business, Tata Teleservices.

“In these days of BYOD, a device management that works across handsets, operating systems and service providers and easy to configure is the need of the hour, and Tata Docomo’s MDM does just that,” he added.

Sectors like Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI), Manufacturing, FMCG, Retail, Government, Pharmaceuticals, Logistics, ecommerce and Market Research are expected to be benefitted from the deployment of such MDM solutions.
