MediaTek launches Helio P25 for dual-camera smartphones

NEW DELHI: Taiwan-based MediaTek Wednesday launched MediaTek Helio P25 chipset for dual-camera smartphones.

The new combines the power of 16nm octa-core processing with MediaTek Imagiq – a superior Image Signal Processor (ISP) technology – and dual camera features to satisfy smartphone photographers, the semiconductor company in a statement said.

It facilitates up to a 24-megapixel single camera or two 13 megapixel each dual camera phones.

The newly released chipset supports enhanced uploads in LTE (Long-Term Evolution) and has advanced power efficiency features, including compatibility with MediaTek’s Envelope Tracking Modulator to deliver more processing power with lower heat.

“MediaTek Helio P25 paves the way for high-resolution and feature-rich smartphone cameras that enable amazing static shots and videos,” said Jeffrey Ju, Executive Vice President and Co-Chief Operating Officer at MediaTek.

Supporting two cameras up to 13 megapixel each, Ju “said that the MediaTek Helio P25 redefines expectations for mobile photography and our multimedia features such as MediaTek MiraVision technology that continuously enhance visual user-experiences.
