NEW DELHI: Reliance Jio Infocomm’s basic tariff would include a local or STD call at 2 paise/second, Rs 1/SMS and Rs 5 for international text message while data pricing include 0.5 paise/10KB data and 5 paise/sec for video calls.
The tariff plan, revealed by Jio 4G SIM starter kit for the commercial launch seems to be lowest for the data offering among the industry, a report by TelecomTalk said.
The data plan, according to analysts is likely to competitively position the telco and may help it acquire customers quickly.
Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio is expected to launch much awaited high-speed data services sometime soon which according to industry experts could be a game changer for the telecom sector.
The Mumbai-headquartered has also updated its mobile wallet, Jio Money which can now recharge mobile numbers.
According to the app, Jio Mi-Fi devices are bundled with 40GB data for 90 days and 200GB pack is also available for network test which may only be available for internal users initially.
Jio is also offering two friends and family packs, F&F Basic and Gold, for Rs 37 and Rs 38, respectively.
Query to Reliance Jio went unanswered with a response, “there’s already a story flashed.”
Ambani recently said that Jio will make services affordable to the consumers. “All of this is of no use if we cannot make it accessible and affordable to consumers in all parts of the country,” he added.
Jio had rolled out services for its 120,000 employees and partners late December.
