Indore: Reliance Jio, the telecom arm of Reliance Industries, introduced 4G VoLTE smartphones under the label LYF and showcased six multimedia applications at an event here on Sunday.
Jio unveiled three models of LYF smartphones, Earth 1, Water 1 and Water 2, ranging from Rs 13,000 to Rs 24,000. The company will be introducing more models in coming days in a phased manner.
These devices will enable customers to make internet based calls such as voice calling over Wi-Fi, video conferencing, high definition voice and videos. The company is yet to announce the commercial launch of 4G services in the state.
At the event, Jio also showcased its multimedia applications Jio Play, Jio on Demand, Jio Beats, Jio Mags, Jio XpressNews and Jio Chat. “We are proud to be associated with Madhya Pradesh government’s vision of Digital MP. Jio is motivated to end the digital divide of the citizens of Indore by bringing cutting edge (true 4G) technology to people,” a Reliance Jio spokesperson said.
